About the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team:
“1-2-3, Warriors!” That’s the pre-game cheer for the national Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST), a group of veterans and active-duty soldiers who lost limbs in Iraq and Afghanistan. Thanks to modern prosthetic technology, they are able to compete at high levels by wearing prostheses that allow them to hit, run, catch and throw. This month marks the team’s three-year anniversary. WWAST has a winning record of 98-46 and has played in 28 states and 67 cities.
